Semicon Associates has been manufacturing Samarium Cobalt magnets for over 14
years. Our operation features modern sintering furnace controls,
hysteresisgraph, a high-energy charger, an automatic calibrator, versatile
compacting presses, a cold wall vacuum furnace, a controlled powder milling
system, and numerous inert atmosphere glove boxes for safe powdering
processing.
SEMICORE® Samarium Cobalt magnets are best used where size, weight, or
resistance to demagnetization is critical.
Semicon Associates custom produces magnets specifically to customer
requirements with 100% individual parts testing and tight dimensional
tolerances (+/-.0005"). Semicon purchases high purity raw materials and
controls the entire manufacturing process.
Semicon offers value added processing such as individual magnet calibration,
pre-assembled stacks of specified magnets, and in-circuit tuning and profiling
of TWT magnet sets.
Beyond technical expertise, we offer a market and team driven approach. Semicon
Associates will partner with you to develop customized solutions tailored to
your needs. Our partnership continues after the sale is completed to ensure you
get maximum benefit from your purchase.
Typical Applications
• Microwave amplifiers and oscillators for airborne equipment
• TWT modules for phased array radar
• Small motors for severe thermal conditions
• Hermetic magnetic couplings to replace shaft seals
• Lightweight generators, usually for aircraft
• Vane actuators for missiles
• Particle beam focusing, quadrupoles, lenses, wigglers, etc.
• Magnetic bearings, gyros, vacuum pumps, accelerometers
• Various mechanisms in disk drives, cameras, tape drives, and miniature
loudspeakers and earphones; where small size is important
